New Mexico green chili has six times more vitamin C than a regular orange. Perhaps this year, green chili from Hatch, New Mexico will contain 10 times more penicillin than molded bread! To the left is an example of a bloated green chili pepper from Hatch New Mexico. Continual rain showers have destroyed half of this chili farmer's crop. Green chili plants grow close to the ground, and thousands of green chilies are drowning to their deaths each day.
